Waste management has been a crucial issue, not only for Nepal, but for the first world countries too. Given how inconsistent waste management prevails, we can only imagine how the scenario was two decades back. We, as an organisation, couldn’t wait for someone else to step up, hence, took an opportunity of spearheading the recycling change that has been going on for almost 18 years now.
Paaluwa was born out of a mission to manage the recyclables, adapting the green way of life. We have been passionately working in managing these “waste” inside Kathmandu valley, but now we want to expand our horizons and reach out to the community level. Following in the footsteps of 3R(Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) principle, we welcome you in this journey of green revolution.
Paaluwa believes in total visibility of the whole process that goes behind the recycling of your contribution. To ensure the efficient and effective recycling practise, we take control of the overall end to end process as well.
Paaluwa reaches out to you at the community level, collects your recyclables, sort it out in our warehouse and recycles/upcycles it in our own plant. This gives us immense pride and pleasure seeing how we bring these “wastes” back into practise, hence continuing this circular chain.
During this almost two decade journey, Paaluwa has worked with organisations that supply us these recyclables in large quantities. Throughout these years, we have always experienced an empty feeling of not getting to reach on community level as much as we wanted to.
Interacting with the community and helping them to solve the community waste problem whilst providing them an opportunity to salvage their waste has been our main goal for some years now. This not only allows us to connect with the community but also provides us visibility on the front end of this Green Process.
Paaluwa is a firm believer and advocate of the environment friendly practises. We continue to work in the hope to make this planet, Earth, a better place to live for our generation and an even better place to sustain for our upcoming generations.
We are in the business to promote and encourage the sustainable practises of recycling and reusing what we consider as waste. This discourages the linear system of waste management that we currently follow to a circular one, thus contributing in the sustainable and green use of the resources.
